Job: Welsh Speaking- Learning Support Assistant

About the Position

VES is seeking Learning Support Assistants to work in Welsh medium primary schools in the Merthyr Tydfil area. Due to the number of vacancies we have available the ideal candidates will be those who can adapt their approach to work with children across both the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2.  Candidates for this vacancy could be expected to cover within various schools in the area on both a short and long term basis.  Previous experience within a welsh medium school is preferred but is not essential providing the candidate is a fluent Welsh speaker.

Applicants Require

  • An enhanced DBS check which is subscribed to the update service or be willing to undergo one with VES (N.B all DBS checks must state that you are working with the Child Workforce in line with DBS guidelines)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Details of two referees, to cover the last 24 months of employment history
  • Level 2 CACHE, Level 3 CACHE, BTEC, NNEB, Degree or equivalent
  • Ability to speak fluent Welsh
