Training for Schools

simply the best

VES are committed to offering regular training to our candidates so that they can update their CPD.

All VES candidates are required to complete our Safeguarding course and are advised to complete Prevent training. A variety of courses are run during school holidays for candidates to continue their professional development.

How to access your Safeguarding e-learning

A welcome e-mail will be sent to you from VES@melearning.co.uk. This e-mail will contain your username, password and a link to the portal.

When you click the link to the portal you will be brought to the main login page, please enter your username and the password you have been provided and click ‘login’.

If you have not received this e-mail, please check your Junk or Spam mail filters.  If you are still unable to locate the e-mail and are having continued problems, please e-mail compliance@valleyeducation.co.uk

Please note that there are five parts to the Safeguarding course. Please ensure that you have completed all parts of the course. This will then generate a percentage pass rate, which VES will be able to access.  The completion of this course is mandatory in order to work in schools on behalf of VES.

Safeguarding Against Radicalisation- The Prevent Duty Training

Extremism. Radicalisation. Terrorism. How much do you know about how and why they occur, what their effects are and what your responsibilities are?

The three-module Prevent training course covers the meaning of extremism and its links to terrorism. It covers in detail all the key legislation around terrorism prevention; in particular The Prevent Duty, the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 duty on specified authorities to pay due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.

Manual Handling

This five module course provides information on manual handling operations, the risks and the responsibilities of all staff. You’ll explore the risks of manual handling, learn about injuries that can result from poor lifting and come away with a sound knowledge of the topic.

The course includes practical advice and provides organisations a level of compliance to meet many of their health and safety training obligations.

First Aid

In this course, you will cover all the major topics for adult first aid, and child and infant first aid. We also look at life saving first aid techniques, like the primary survey for assessing casualties, and look at the role of a first aider.

Nine modules in size, this course also covers topics including how to deal with epilepsy and seizures, asthma and allergies and bleeding and burns.

You will automatically get a course certificate on course completion, with your name, the CPD hours, the date and learning objectives.

Autism Training and Awareness Course

This is a three-module online autism awareness course containing information on autism diagnoses, how the condition impacts the individual on a day-to-day basis and the challenges autism presents to people who work with or care for people with autism.

The course will look at key issues such as the autistic spectrum, the causes of autism, autism and social communication issues, autism and body language, facial expressions and tone of voice, mind blindness, sensory issues, coping methods and the positives of autism.

This course is helpful for anyone working with, or likely to work with, people on the autistic spectrum or those interested in human development. It’s also useful for parents, carers or friends of people with autistic spectrum disorders.

You will automatically get a course certificate on course completion, containing your name, CPD hours, date and learning objectives.

All the above course are run by MeLearning.com (https://www.melearning.co.uk/). If you are interested in taking part in any of the above please contact us now on 01685788018 for more information. ALL Courses are CPD accredited and you will receive a certificate on completion.
