West Wales Community Awards

May 30, 2018

Last Friday saw some of the VES team representing the company and sharing the room with some of the most inspirational people in the country at the highly inspirational West Wales Community Awards, at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli.  The event, organised by Wales Online, the Llanelli Star and the Carmarthen Journal, honoured tremendous feats of bravery, selflessness and determination, with awards handed out to a number of deserving individuals and bodies after the work they have put in across the last year and beyond.  The awards ranged from sporting achievement to contributions as members of the community, with the winners coming from all age demographics.  Alun Wells of Burry Port RNLI, who won the Bravery Award (which was sponsored and presented by VES) said:  “On behalf of our six helmsmen and 32 crew members, the six managers and the fundraisers who back us up beyond that, I’d just like to say thank you for the support.  To win an award is special, but to win an award in your own community is really special.  It’s a big boost in a very important year.  There were some terrific contenders for this award, so we’re very honoured.”
